Files in Download (/storage/emulated/0/Download/) are ignored as they are considered “temporary”. In addition, the player may not see music for the following reasons:

  • 🎵 Unsupported format: files in .flac, .wav or rare codecs;
  • 📛 Damaged metadata: missing tags ID3 (track name, artist);
  • 🔒 Right restrictions: files downloaded via Telegram or VK and have non-standard resolutions.

💡 Tip: if you downloaded music via Telegram, try opening the file in any other player (for example, VLC or AIMP). If it plays, the problem is definitely in the settings MIUI, and not in the file itself.

The most reliable method is to physically move the files to the folder that the player scans. To do this:

  4. Select Storage → Clear data (this will reset the library cache).
  5. Return to Settings → Advanced → Accessibility → Media storage.

    Why does Telegram save music in .mpga format?

    This is due to the media file compression policy in the messenger. Files are re-encoded in MP3 with a low bitrate and saved with the extension .mpga to save traffic. Many players (including the standard one from Xiaomi) do not recognize this format.

    Transferring music to a memory card (if you have one)

    If you have microSDinstalled, you can save space in the internal memory by transferring music there. To do this:

    1. Insert the card into your smartphone and wait for it to be recognized.
    2. Open "Files"** → Categories → Audio.
    3. Select tracks → Move → select SD card → Music (create a folder if it does not exist).
