Fortunately, the operating system Android provides flexible tools for managing files, although the standard settings of the messenger itself are not always obvious to the average user. Direct transfer of the application itself (its executable code) to an SD card in modern versions of the OS is often blocked by developers for the sake of security and performance. However, there is a solution to the problem: we can redirect the saving of all media files and backups to an external drive.

Preparing the drive and checking compatibility
